Palestinian Surfers
The surfers of Gaza are living under Israeli bombardment and appealing for funds to help them survive or in some cases leave Gaza. We can help by donating. Every bit counts. The fundraisers are listed below.
Rawand Abu Ghanem is one of Gaza's first female surfers. She is from a surfing family and is now displaced with her husband and son in Gaza. Click here to donate to Rawand.
Sabah Abu Ghanem is Rawand's cousin, she is a surfer and the founder of the first female swim club in Gaza. Sabah has also been forced to flee her home in Gaza City and is now in Khan Younis with her family. Click here to donate to Sabah.
Youssef, Abdullah, and Muhammad Abu Ghanem are brothers from Gaza City. They are surfers and come from the shores of the Gaza Sea. They belong to a family that uses the sea as a means of happiness, comfort and reassurance and grew up on the water, where their father worked for years as a fisherman and lifeguard. Saleh Arafat's family is a large family of 80 people. They are in desperate need of funds for tents and food in Rafah. Click here to donate.
Mohammed Abo Hassira and his family lost everything, including their home in the blink of an eye. Mohammed is a surfer and was a business owner. His uncle Ahmed, one of Gaza's surfing pioneers was killed in the genocide. You can donate to help Mohammed survive here.
The Alriashi brothers Youssef, Mahmoud, Mohammed, Hazem, and Zakaria have lost everything in northern Gaza. Their family owned business and their homes were destroyed. They desperately need funds to survive and rebuild their lives. Click here to donate.
